Become an ABC Ambassador & Bring a Brighter Future

  1. Who are ABC Ambassadors?

ABC Ambassadors are passionate about serving vulnerable children and families of New York City by helping raise awareness for ABC’s work and fundraising for our highest-quality programs. Click here to hear from our ABC Ambassadors themselves!

  2. Who should become an ABC ambassador?

Anyone who believes in ABC’s mission to serve the whole child, whole family, and whole community by providing extensive and compassionate wraparound services would make a great ABC Ambassador. In particular, we recommend the ABC Ambassador option for someone who wants to make an impact but can’t commit to a regular volunteering schedule.

  3. Why should I become an ABC Ambassador?

We know you want to support an organization with a demonstrated history of positive impact, financial health, good governance, and transparency. ABC has received 4 out of 4 stars from Charity Navigator for 11 consecutive years now, a feat achieved by only 1 percent of charities across the nation.

  4. How do I become an ABC Ambassador?

Glad you asked! There are two different ways of becoming an ABC Ambassador: (1) you can set up a Give Lively fundraising page here, which does not charge any fees for use of the platform, or (2) you can use another platform that you are more familiar with. We recommend the second option if you already have a presence on another platform (for example, if you are a streamer and you have a following on Twitch).

How Can I Run the Best Campaign?

1. How can I best share why I love ABC?

Your friends, family, and coworkers are much more likely to care about ABC if they understand why you support us. Tell them how you came to be connected to ABC, what you like about us, and why you have chosen to become an ABC Ambassador!

2. What kind of digital assets can I share?

ABC's social media is filled with timely updates on how our children are doing. You will see posts about the causes that motivate our staff every day and the activities our children loved doing. Please visit us on our social media (IG: @assoctobenefitchildren, Facebook: @assoctobenefit) to see what updates you think would speak the most to your friends.

If you would like additional resources, please contact ABC's Development & Communications Associate Erica Choi at echoi@a-b-c.org

3. What are some strategies ABC Ambassadors have utilized in the past?

Some of our ambassadors create fun rewards for their friends to donate. A student group at Barnard College, for example, sold handmade bracelets for ABC. A different student group at New York University hosted a virtual comedy show, which generated over $1,000 of proceeds to ABC. Explore ways to combine your interest in cooking, baking, or DIY with your passion for helping underprivileged children!

4. Can I talk to someone at ABC about my project?

Absolutely! ABC's development team would be more than happy to assist you through your ABC Ambassador journey. Please reach out to our Development & Communications Associate, Erica Choi, at echoi@a-b-c.org.
