Association to Benefit Children
Ensuring that every child has a joyful, healthy, and safe life through compassionate and innovative programs since 1986.
What is ABC?
Children who face the pervasive, complex, and compounded stressors of poverty need comprehensive, holistic support to grow and thrive.
ABC serves the whole child, whole family, and whole community with our extensive wraparound services centered in East Harlem, South Bronx, and schools throughout Manhattan.
ABC’s Mission
is to offer every child a life filled with joy and love by creating compassionate programs in urgent response to the needs of New York City's most vulnerable families. We envision a world in which all children have a healthy, safe life full of learning in a nurturing family.
We have a long history of speaking out on behalf of children in need and fighting for their rights, changing the landscape for children across the nation.
In keeping with the ever-changing complications of poverty, ABC is constantly innovating, adapting early, and staying ahead of challenges as they arise.
Last year, we offered over 436,000 hours of early childhood education, 11,000 hours of mental health treatment, and 3,000 hours of abuse and neglect prevention to families across 160+ ZIP codes in New York City.
