Association to Benefit Children needs your help to ensure a safe and
fun-filled summer for the children who participate in ABC's many
programs.
Your valued support of ABC's Summer Day Camp will make it possible for
children in need to experience the wonders and resources the City and
its environs have to offer.

ABC’s therapeutic summer day camp serves 100 low-income
children and adolescents from 5 years old to 13 years of age, and 20
teens. Some of the activities planned for ABC’s children this year
include swim sessions at the Harlem Y, dance lessons at Groove with Me –
where they will be taught ballet, tap, hip hop, and Afro-Caribbean dance
techniques – sports programs on Randall’s Island – where they will learn
to play or hone their skills in tennis, golf, soccer, baseball, and
football – and trips to the Children’s Museum, Botanical Garden, Bronx
Zoo, The Museum of Natural History, Sony Wonder Lab, The Transit Museum,
The Cloisters, Museum of Modern Art, Central Park Carousel, South Street
Seaport Museum, Aquarium for Wildlife Conservation, Marionette Theatre,
Yeshiva University Museum, Randall’s Island Pony Rides, Little Shop of
Plaster, Studio Museum in Harlem, Imax, Hudson River Park, Bear Mountain
and Sesame Place. Activities and field trips are designed to be both fun
and educational, and make a vital difference for our children as well as
for their families.
$2000 will fund the salary of an experienced camp counselor $1000
will purchase camp t-shirts and totebags for every camper $750 will
cover the costs of nutritious snacks $500 will pay for paint, brushed,
paper, clay, glue, lanyards and other arts and craft supplies $250
will charter a bus for a day of hiking and boating in a state park
$100 will buy balls, bats, gloves, nets, jump ropes and other sports
equipment
