We listen to what children have to say and then amplify their voices.
ABC is dedicated to bringing joy and warmth to disadvantaged children and their families through compassionate, sustainable, comprehensive and integrated services, designed to permanently break the cycles of abuse, neglect, sickness and homelessness.

Mission Statement

ABC was created to combat poverty's debilitating effects on children, and to champion the right of every child to a joyful and nurturing childhood.

Since its inception, ABC has helped tens of thousands of needy children and their families with high-quality services designed to permanently break the destructive cycles of abuse, sickness, neglect and homelessness.

With early childhood education at its center, ABC has developed a comprehensive array of programs to sustain every family member. ABC recognizes that to successfully help a child, the entire family must be strengthened and ABC's "whole family" approach reflects its commitment to building long-lasting stability for families and for communities.

ABC's programs are located in Upper Manhattan and serve children and families throughout New York City, with a particular focus on the community of East Harlem. Each program is a model -- cost effective, humane and replicable -- and each gives fragile children opportunities to experience tenderness, success, hope and love.
